On December 29th, RBS held the 2007 New Year's Gala Dinner in the Friendship Hotel to hail the coming New Year. Attendees included not only faculty members from RBS, but also presidents of RUC, officials from the Ministry of Education, leaders from companies, and successful alumni who are working in different fields. The theme for this year's gala dinner was "integrating the advantages of business administration education, and gathering the elite for management research".

The Gala was kicked off at 6:00 P.M. marked by Dean Yi's New Year's speech. A video clip was played to review the accomplishments on teaching, research, international cooperation, branding and student nurturing of RBS in 2006. After that, Ji Baocheng, President of RUC and also a professor of RBS, gave a speech in which he double confirmed the accomplishments that RBS had made in 2006, and encouraged faculty members of RBS to work harder and achieve more in the coming year. After the speech, President Ji and Vice President Feng Jun jointly opened the champagne to make a toast to all present, which drove the dinner to its climax.

Another important issue for the night was the award ceremony for outstanding individuals and teams who contributed greatly to the development and prosperity of RBS in the past year. In the gala, students from RBS Arts Group also brought excellent performances, which added highlights to the event. Everybody in the gala was immersed in the cheerful atmosphere of a happy New Year.
