RBS enjoys top academic status in the field of economic management in China. Academic research has a vital portion in its development and construction at RBS. We pay equal attention to theoretical research and management practice and always relate academic research to the advancement, reform, opening to the outside world, and development of our country; and have provided Chinese enterprises with strong theoretical and field-based support.

RBS faculty body includes academic forerunners who are internationally recognized for their pioneering research and contributions to business management and helped establish Chinese enterprise management science, management consultants actively working in managerial consulting field, and professors who are familiar with the theory and methods of management and have over ten years of teaching experience in business administration. The projects RBS professors designed, such as “Modernization of Management in Shanghai Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.” and “Huawei's Strategy”, have welcomed favorable comments in both academic and enterprise circles.

The scientific research strength of RBS faculty is notable. Since 2000, we have published more than 1,300 research papers, among which 600 are in Chinese core journals, and more than 500 monographs and textbooks. We were also granted 50 national research projects and more than 100 provincial and ministerial research projects. The project fund allocated to us in 2005 reached RMB¥5.8407million. During the “Tenth Five-year Plan” period, the faculty of RBS have won five national teaching achievement prizes, four provincial and ministerial teaching achievement prizes, four national excellent course prizes, three provincial and ministerial excellent course prizes, four national excellent textbook prizes, and eight provincial and ministerial excellent textbook prizes.
