I am a Professor, and Associate Dean for research and international programs, School of Business, Renmin University of China. Previously, I was a visiting fellow in the Dept. of Information Systems, City University of Hong Kong (2002-2004), and a tenured professor in the Dept. of Management Sciences, University of Waterloo, Canada (1995-2001). I was also a visiting scientist at the IBM Toronto Labs for two years between 2000 and 2001.
My Ph.D. (Management Information Systems) was from the University of British Columbia, Canada (Supervisor: Izak Benbsat), MBA from McGill University (1989), Bachelor of Engineering (Information Systems Engineering) from Renmin University in 1985.
My major areas of research include the design and evaluation of information systems, their usefulness and usability along with their behavioural and cognitive bases, and user-centred design methodologies. My prior research has appeared in most of the major international journals on human-computer interaction, and MIS journals. My recent work has focused on IT project management, e-Commerce and e-Government applications, and offshored and outsourced software development.
