Social practice
With the powerful support from the League Committee of RUC and the Party Committee of RBS, the RBS League Committee organizes social practice for students in abundant themes, forms, regions and a tremendous time span. We guide students to go out of classroom to be exposed to the society, understand the society, and better develop their innovative and coordinating spirit, practical and social capabilities to enhance the overall development, and guide them to develop and become useful talents in a healthy manner.
During the practice, team members visit enterprises, survey into enterprise management and marketing planning through visiting, designing questionnaires, discussion, symposia and consulting meetings. They have visited many cities in Zhejiang, Hubei, Yunnan provinces，and Northeast China.
During their social practice, students get to learn the development of enterprises and requirements for them by understanding the underdevelopment in some areas such as poor mountainous areas and some rural areas. They have a better understanding of courses, guidelines, policies of our party, advantages of socialism, current situation of our country and people, and have a stronger confidence in building socialism with Chinese characteristics under the leadership of out party. Students involved in the social practice feel a deeper affection for local people and a shorter distance from the society. They have expanded their vision, developed their capabilities, enhanced their qualities, and identified the road to become talented personnel and realized their historic mission.

Visits to Enterprises by RBS Students
“Visits to Enterprises by RBS Students” is one of the branded extracurricular activity of RBS. After successful organization in recent years, this practice has obtained more and more concerns from teachers, students and enterprises.
During the practice, students have visited enterprises, understood production sections of enterprises, development of enterprises, experienced the working environment of workers as well as corporate culture, had a better understanding of enterprises; what is more important is that they have had interactive communication with management personnel of enterprises. Through symposia with management personnel of enterprises, students have learned much knowledge unavailable in textbooks, which enrich their knowledge. With the immediate understanding of the operating mechanism of enterprises and requirements for talents in businesses, students can effectively integrate theories with practice, find a suitable direction of development for themselves, enhance their qualities accordingly, and meet requirements set by the development of the society. Having set up a bridge for enterprises to read real thoughts of college students nowadays, this practice has achieved good social effect. “Participation” and “Win-win” are themes of “Visits to Enterprises” this year.
In recent years, during the practice of “Visits to Enterprises by RBS Students”, students have visited and investigated many enterprises such as Beijing Hyundai Motor Company, Mengniu Group, Beijing Yanjing Beer Group Corporation, Beijing Huiyuan Beverage & Food Group Co., Ltd. They have also established long-term friendly relations with these enterprises.
Extracurricular Academic Thesis Contest
Extra Curricular Academic Thesis Contest of RBS students is a directory, exemplary and popular academic contest organized by RBS. Each year, RUC's League Committee, Student Union, and Graduate Union co-organize the “Extra Curricular Academic Thesis Contest of RBS Students” among full-time Chinese undergraduates and master candidates of various majors (excluding those of continuing education), and part-time MBA (excluding on-the-job graduates students of other programs) to intensify the academic atmosphere of our school, the purpose of which is to cultivate precise and practical learning style of students and select outstanding academic theses. These theses are mainly about applied economics, management science and other courses of our school. Those with extracurricular academic theses or social practice results completed at most one year before application are welcome to register for the contest. There are individual applicants and co-applicants. Theses are reviewed and selected in terms of graduate theses and undergraduate students. The rewards vary from RMB￥300 to RMB￥2,000.
