“Sing with the Wind”
“Sing with the Wind” is a pop music and cultural activity created by a group of pioneers of students in the School of Industry and Business Management of RUC (the predecessor RBS) in the early 1990's in view of the emerging Chinese pop music circles and tedious campus cultural life.
As one of the highlights of campus practice of RUC, the development of "Sing with the Wind" in the past thirteen years is a process of continuous enrichment of dreams that enable us to grow together with campus music, originally created songs and re-created songs. It has created many “No.1”s: the first campus-wide premium cultural practice organized by college/department-level student union with influences across the campus; the first campus music activity with a substantial percentage of participants from other universities; the first activity based on one-university arts and gradually spread to other main universities, integrating campus effect with social effect; and the first student cultural activity that has lasted for twelve consecutive years and is extremely popular each year. So many No.1's have made “Sing with the Wind” extremely appealing and agitating.
“Sing with the Wind” is a stage that displays the image of contemporary young university students, enables exchanges between music lovers from various universities, records the development of the campus music and pop music of China, and concentrates efforts and enthusiasm of countless young university students. In the past ten years, we have seen on this stage nearly 400 marvelous campus singers, have listened to over 300 beautiful and classical pieces of music, have felt the aptitude, comprehension, passion and enthusiasm of young university students.
“Sing with the Wind” has obtained not only attention and strong support from the RUC's President, Party Secretary, leaders of various levels, and the League Committee of RUC, but also active participation, support and care of students of various universities in Beijing. Moreover, it has also obtained the exclusive live on-line support from Sohu campus channel, as well as reports and praises of Beijing music station, Beijing artistic station, Beijing Music Radio, Beijing Literature Station, Capital on-line, Sina, Uland, Xinhuanet, Chinaren, fanso.com, Beijing Youth and other media. “Sing with the Wind” is not only the pride of students of RUC, but also the dream stage of university students in Beijing.
